I don't want to burst anyones bubble here, but I think there's a lot of people under the impression that SQL 05 & VS 05 are going to be released on November 7th. From everything I've seen announced, this is the LAUNCH date, not the RELEASE date - they could be quite seperate things. At the very least, I wouldn't expect to see DVD's/CD's in your mail box before December.

But then, I could be wrong... and it wouldn't be the first time.

From what I've heard and from talking to various people, the RTM releases will be on MSDN Subscriber downloads within 24 hours and included in the December MSDN shipments; possibly November, it depends when the get final signoff on the media. If it's early enough it'll make it to the replicators, otherwise, December.
As for packages on the shelf, I would expect them to be available in the US on the day of release, and down here, dunno. Maybe a week or 3 later.

Jay Roxe said at TechEd yesturday the he expects it may be a couple of weeks early! Cool. Team System will definatley be later but I can live with that.

My paranioa has eased.
