A simple programmers blog

# Wednesday, November 02, 2005

I've now installed Visual Studio 2005 RTM on my main box after diligently cleaning off all beta code.  When I start VS, I get the following error:

Solution pending...

So sorry to hear of your trouble, Jonesie...especially since I haven't done my Beta 2.0-to-RTM dance yet! I'll be watching for your pending solution.

I had the same issue with my first install of VS 2005 Beta 2, at the time i had the fx in one drive and VS in another drive. I then re installed both on the same drive C: and things seemed to be fine.

Did you have a beta version installed before?. If it wasnt the RC versions did you run the seperate uninstaller? rather than using the add/remove programs as the beta versions have to removed in a correct order. Tool is on my site : http://se7en.co.nz/cms/scrappad/archive/2005/10/28/903.aspx

Looks like I fixed it by trawling through the registry and removing anything that referenced the VS folder.
